Slammed by the BBFC for its “unremitting bleakness and callousness of tone”, controversial Rockstar Wii, PS2 and PSP game Manhunt 2 is to get a UK release on October 31, Halloween.
The game, based around a snuff TV show that forces you to kill psychopathic gang members for ratings thrills, had been rejected by the BBFC but Rockstar appealed to the Video Appeals Committee and High Court, submitting a modified version of the game, to finally get its right to release.
In case you want some ultraviolence, be aware that on game review aggregator site gamerankings.com, the PS2 game scores a measly 65 per cent, the PSP 68 per cent and the Wii 63 per cent. Given the slant of game review sites generally, think of those as roughly two-star reviews. In other words – rent before you buy.
