Dell Inspiron Mini 9Been waiting for the Ubuntu-toting Dell Inspiron Mini 9? Well, wait no more: Dell has just launched the Eee PC-style netbook in the UK, priced at £269.

The 8.9-inch laptop comes with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of memory, 0.3-megapixel webcam and an 8GB solid state drive, but there’s no sign of the other storage options (4GB, 16GB) originally promised by Dell, at least not on the Linux version. To get the 16GB of storage, you’ll have to buy the Inspiron Mini 9 that runs Windows XP.

Given that the XP version costs £299 – only £30 more than the Linux – and features a better webcam in addition to that extra 8GB of solid state space, we suspect most customers will opt to go with Windows.
