Xbox 360Microsoft may have just trimmed the price of an Xbox 360 Arcade down to £129.99, but retailer Sainsbury’s has taken things even further, nudging the console to just below the £100 mark.

The entry-level Xbox 360 is now selling for a credit crunch-beating £99, and if you’d rather have a model equipped with wireless controller and 60GB hard drive, you can pick up the mid-range Premium 360 for £140 – £30 less than its regular price.

Sainsbury’s has also snipped the Wii down to £150 (normally £180), but there’s no such reduction for the PS3, a console that is now looking seriously expensive next to its rivals. With the Wii and 360 already caning it in the sales charts, isn’t it time that Sony pulled out its shears and did some price-pruning?
