OK, so the BlackBerry Storm can now be considered semi-official. This video just leaked online from a Vodafone presentation in Italy, showing off the Storm in all its touchscreen glory, as well as dishing up a few new details.
Check out the video below. RIM is clearly very close to launching the handset, and with Vodafone offering e-mail notifications as soon as it arrives, we reckon it’ll be days and weeks before it pops up in stores.
However, we’re still learning more about the Storm. The video below lets slip that it’ll work as a wireless modem, claiming it’ll “connect your laptop from just about anywhere.”
There’s also social networking software built into the Storm. Vodafone’s presentation states the phone is “Socially Connected. Take on your online life.”
It’s nor clear which networks are supported, but given RIM’s acceptance of third party apps, it won’t be long before they’re all covered.
Strangely, the Storm walkthrough highlights Mobile Streaming as a separate service from the handset’s web browser and music player. Does that mean there’s a BlackBerry-specific entertainment service on the horizon? Vodafone says it’ll serve up “News, clips and music on the move.”
