New Nintendo DSiNintendo’s made good on the rumours, and dished up and all new DS this morning, dubbed the DSi, and packing dual touchscreens, a camera, SD card slot, web browser and downloadable games.

Other improvements include a slight boost to the console’s screen size, which now sits at 3.25 inches, as well as a reduction in thickness by 12% (thanks to the lack of a GBA cartridge slot).

The new DSi’s camera is a 3.2 megapixel version, saving snaps to an SD card, ready for viewing on screen, or through the Wii’s photo channel.

There’s also a built in browser, so the console’s Wi-Fi is good for more than just a spot of head to head play.

A new DSi Shop will let gamers download new titles, or DS Ware games. Payment will be handled by the same Points system as the Wii, with the currency re-branded from Wii Points to Nintendo Points. DS games will cost between 200 and 800 points.

Launching on November 1st in Japan, and in the rest of the world next year, the new handheld will cost £100.
