We’re used to playing our DS Lite for days on end without recharging it, but now word reaches us that the DSi will pack much less staying power, maxing out at 14 hours, compared to the original handheld’s 19 hour lifespan.
The figures come from games fansite Kotaku, which has rounded up all of the new Nintendo machine’s stats.
According to the figures, the new Nintendo DSi will last between 9 and 14 hours on the lowest brightess setting, compared to 15-19 hours for the original DS Lite on the same setting.
On the highest brightness setting, the new DSi lasts just half the time of the DS Lite, clocking in at 3-4 hours, compared to its predecessor’s 5-8 hour lifespan.
What’s the reason behind it? We’re not sure. The new machine’s screen measures 3.25 inches, compared to the DS Lite’s 3 inch display, but it’s a big drop to attribute to such a small change.
