PlayTVMany of us already have freeview stacked in our tellys but that hasn’t stopped an impressive 85,000 PlayTV units being snapped in its first week by TV hungry UK gamers.

The master plan to make the PS3 the media hub of the home seems to be gaining ground with a successful week for PlayTV, currently selling for just under £70.

The little add-on acts as more than just a freeview box. It’s a handy little Personal Video Recorder letting you record shows in advance from your PS3 or PSP, even streaming shows to the handheld.

It’s only selling in the UK for now but is expected to launch across Europe in time for Christmas when it looks like it could be gobbled up by the stocking load.

Out now | £69.99 | PlayTV | (GamesIndusty.biz)
