Eee PC 901If there’s one thing that the Eee PC lacks, compared to some of its up and coming competitors, it’s baked in 3G connectivity. But that’s all set to change thanks to word from Asus that it’ll be available from next month.

Asus is touting its internal mobile broadband link as 3.75G – which basically means you get up to 7.2Mbps down and a decent 2Mbps up, although this will depend on network coverage.

The first model to come with it built in will be the Eee PC 901 and despite having a power hungry 3G chip inside, Asus is still claiming up to 7.5 hours battery life. Other specs – like an Intel Atom chip, 1GB memory, 16GB SSD and 8.9in screen are reasonable, but nothing to write home about.

Out October | £TBC | Asus
