Online banking has now become a daily necessity for many of us, but Lloyds TSB has taken things one step further – it’s just announced the UK’s first mobile phone banking service, complete with the facility to move money instantly between accounts.
Dubbed “Lloyds TSB Mobile Services”, this blower-based banking app enables users to shuffle cash between “eligible” Lloyds TSB accounts, including current accounts and most instant access savings accounts. Users can view account balances and check the last six transactions made.
The service can also be set up to send users a text message whenever the balance in their current account falls (or exceeds) a certain level, and also in the case of their debit card being used to withdraw cash or to make a purchase abroad.
