Grand Theft Auto IVNow that GTA: Chinatown Wars is out of the bag it’s time for more unruly kids to blame their outpourings of rage on the franchise. That’s what one teen did after deciding to barbecue some cars.

According to The Mail, the 13 year old set fire to three cars in Lyon, France after playing GTA 4 on the PC.

“He said he played the game for a few hours, then wanted to go out and what it felt like to burn out some cars.” A police spokesman said.

It begs the question how did he manage to get GTA4 (it’s not out yet) on the PC before its release? Oh, and erm, why’s a 13 year old playing GTA 4?

It’s not the first time a teen has blamed GTA for their unlawful mischief. Thailand has already created a top ten list of danger games, banning GTA4 along with five other titles after the killing of a cab driver.

How many times do we have to say “Games don’t kill people, people…”

One Response to “GTA 4 blamed for teen crime spree”

This is going too far… The kid has obviously seen molotov cocktails in tv shows such as CSI, or seen people burn cars like in the Punisher. You don’t see me, and 18 year old that’s played the games since #1 was released over 8 years ago, burn cars, try to ramp them over bridges, shoot people, beat taxi drivers down with baseball bats and try stealing an old lady’s BMW with her in it; the game is no excuse, the kids have seen worse in movies and tv. Even the news sometimes tells people about robbers breaking into houses, what they stole, and how they got away with it. “They came in through our back window, which was unlocked…” Smart movie. No one ever blames the news, that’ll be next.
