Got a mobile phone? Then it’s probably got a microSD card slot in the side. Now memory maker SanDisk wants you to buy music on its cards, which you can then shove straight into your phone.
The idea is that it skirts downloads, but is still easier than converting a CD to digital music files.
Best of all the new cards, branded slotMusic, will contain DRM-free files from all four major music labels, so they’re guaranteed to work. They’ll also come with tiny USB adapters, so you can plug them into a computer too.
On sale in the US at first, they’ll come to Europe and the rest of the world soon.
