The world’s first Android phone has broken loose! These shots show the HTC Dream, or T-Mobile G1 as it’s otherwise known, being used out and about for the first time.
The phone will be the first to run Google’s open source operating system, packing in a trackball, touchscreen, hardware buttons and a slide-out keyboard.
Unearthed by the Boy Genius Report, these shots show it’s roughly the size of an iPhone, and much slicker than we’d previously expected.
Coincidentally, T-Mobile has a launch event in collaboration with Google tomorrow.
It’s widely expected that the two firms will formally unveil the HTC Dream / T-Mobile G1 as the first Android handset. It’s also expected to hit
the UK in November. Keep it here for updates as soon as we get them.
