Since GTA: Chinatown Wars for the DS was announced at E3 we’ve been dying for more info. Now not only do we have it. There’s screenshots too. Take a look!
The shots from Gamekyo and Nintendo Everything are the world’s first look at Chinatown Wars and its cell shaded graphical style and isometric camera angle.
It seems Rockstar’s gone for the retro look of GTA games of old with a twist, which is probably for the best. A GTA4 clone on the DS would have looked criminal.
Earlier details of the game also appeared on NeoGaf.
GTA fans will be relieved to know it’ll be a proper open-world game complete with a typically crime laden story and from the looks of the screenshots GTA looks to be going back to its roots on the DS.
Some of the details include:
- A Proper sandbox style open-world environment
- Isometric camera angle
- Stats uploaded to Rockstar Social Club website via Wi-Fi
- Shorter missions
- A good portion of Liberty City
- Lots of pedestrians, cars on screen etc
- A wanted system
- Real-time weather effects and 4-hour day/night cycle
- Lots of radio stations
Not bad! But what do you think? Excited? Disappointed? Is the cell shaded look doing it for you? Let us know in the comments section.
