Rumours are running wild across the web that Apple’s got a 32GB iPhone 3G in store, doubling the phone’s current maximum capacity and preparing to kill off the smaller 8GB version.
According to Apple Insider, stocks of the 8GB iPhone 3G are running perilously low, despite a steady demand from customers.
It hints that Apple’s trying to shift the last of its 8GB stock, before wheeling out a new 32GB model. Of course, it would also suggest the 16GB version will soon see a price cut to fill the gap made by the discontinuation of an 8GB iPhone.
If true, it could finally see Apple hit the storage “sweet spot” for current iPod owners, eager to switch to an iPhone, but not so keen to take a cut in capacity.
Keep it here for more as soon as we get it.
