BlackBerry CurveIt’s another victory for the people who love gadgets but hate wires: the makers of the WildCharge cable-free charging system have revealed that the first products to be compatible with their “power mat” will be the BlackBerry Pearl and BlackBerry Curve.

From the launch date of 1st October, UK-based Curve and Pearl users will be able to swap their mobile’s battery cover for a charge-friendly replacement. Then they’ll be able to simply place the handset on WildCharge’s power mat (which is, of course, plugged into the mains) and marvel as the battery is topped up – all without those pesky cables.

The charging pad can charge several devices at once so, er, if you’ve got a whole gaggle of BlackBerry Curves and Pearls you’ll really feel the benefit. Pricing is yet to be confirmed, but is estimated to be around £75.
