OLED technology may usually be associated with televisions - but it’ll soon be coming to your mantlepiece in the form of Kodak’s new digital photo frame.
The imaginatively named Kodak OLED Wireless Frame is a skinny 7.6-inch widescreen panel with a 180 degree viewing angle, a resolution of 800 x 480 and a sky high 30,000:1 contrast ratio. There’s 2GB of built-in memory - space for 10,000 images - plus a card reader and USB connection.
And if you don’t want to physically connect up storage, you can stream snaps via Wi-Fi, either from your PC or the Internet. Users with Flickr, FrameChannel and Kodak Gallery.
The frame is launching in the US this “holiday season” (i.e. late October/November) for $999 (£560). No word on a UK release yet.
