Canon CyberShot G10For amateur photographers who fancy themselves as pros, Canon’s PowerShot range have been firm favourites for some time. A baby shower is in order then, as three new models have been brought into the fold, and we’ve got our mitts on them.

The Canon PowerShot G10 is the new no frills flagship model. It doesn’t bother trying to be shiny and aerodynamic: it’s just a chunky black box that houses a 14.7 megapixel sensor for massive imaging and Canon’s clever Digic4 chip to chomp through RAW data like James Corden eats pies.

Canon PowerShot SX 10 ISIts little brothers are a bit more stylish, with the sleek shell of the SX 10 IS making it a must have for fashionable paparazzos. 10 megapixels is nothing new, but a 20 x optical wide-angle zoom is, meaning you can snap Britney close up from about 10 miles away.

If you’re more excited by the prospect of the EOS 5D Mark II, also launched today, but rather reasonably put off by the ginormous price tag, the SX 1 IS solves most of your problems, combining the 20x zoom of the SX 10 IS with the new 5D’s full HD video shooting, making it potentially the best value camera on the market for hobbyists when it drops. We can’t wait.
