HTC’s range of touch screen smartphones just got bigger: the Taiwanese tiny tech maker has unveiled the Touch HD, Touch 3G and Touch Viva.
The Touch HD (pictured) is an iPhone-style handset with a 3.8-inch 480 x 800 touch screen (hi-res perhaps, but not strictly HD, is it?), Wi-Fi, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, stereo Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone socket and a 5-megapixel camera. It’s out before the end of the year, but on which networks and at what price we don’t yet know.
The 3G is a high-end phone offering an “uncompromising touch phone experience” – which means it has HTC’s limited multi-touch TouchFLO system, allowing users to zoom and scroll websites using one hand. As you’ll have guessed from the name, it also comes with 3G, supporting download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps via HSDPA. There’s access to YouTube, Google Maps (with AGPS) and an integrated RSS reader, plus a 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and a microSD slot. It’s out next month.
The Viva is a more affordable TouchFLO-equipped blower with AGPS, 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 and microSD slot. Also out in October.
