If that sounds elaborate, it’s because it is: according to the Wall Street Journal, people in the know have been whispering that a formal announcement on the first Android phone’s release date will be made on September 23rd, giving the company about a month to whip up some creamy excitement before release of the potential iPhone killer.
The QWERTY smartphone is eagerly awaited for Google’s first venture into the mobile OS market, and HTC are looking to sell as many as 700,000 by the end of the year, which looks set to be exclusive to T-Mobile.
And who are these people in the know? Why, anonymous sources of course, which means lazy journalists don’t have to prove anything written is remotely true. We hope they’re right though.
