5 features HTC Dream is still missingWe’ve eyed up the spyshots and got ourselves in a whirlwind of excitement over the HTC Dream. But is it enough to give other phones nightmares? We’ve sctarcthed our heads, dug through the leaked specifications, and come up with our hitlist of missing features guaranteed to make sure HTC’s latest lives up to its name.

Multi-touch
The iPhone set the trend for touchy phone tech in mobiles, and we’d love to see some multi-touch talents appear on the Dream too. The ability to pinch, swipe and rotate maps and images, coupled with its QWERTY keyboard (something the iPhone doesn’t have) would be the best of both worlds, and just the thing to help knock the fruity phone off its lofty perch.

Haptic feedback
We don’t need an excuse to paw our gadgets, but with haptic feedback coming to the Blackberry Storm RIM gave us one. Rumours persist that the Storm will feature next-gen haptics, vibrating specific parts of the screen, rather than the whole thing, so it feels like you’re pressing real buttons with proper force feedback. If HTC could include it in their new phone, it’d make our Dreams come true.

FM transmitter
We love listening to tunes through our mobiles on the move, especially when our hands are too full to carry an MP3 player. But what if you want to free your music in the car, or around the house? We’d love to see the ability to teleport our tunes onto a stereo via an FM transmitter just like Nokia’s latest N-series. Music or Moyles? It’s not that hard is it?

Better camera
The iPhone’s achilles heel is obvious to all. That 2 megapixel camera is laughable, and HTC needs to top it. With the likes of Samsung’s i8510 and LG’s KC910 belting out eight megapixel offerings its time to make a stand in the snapper stakes and take the iPhone firmly out of the picture.

Gamer-friendly controls
With Nokia mobiles pumped full of N-Gage abilities and dedicated gaming keys, not to mention Belkin’s iPhone game controller, it looks like gaming is going play a big part in the mobile war. We’d like to see some proper gaming controls, so the Dream won’t require us to purchase odd-looking peripherals.
