Placed up high on its perch, RoboHawk looks real enough to the city centre pests that are leaving an increasing amount of mess. Yep, this creature has a few tricks up its wings to challenge any flying rats feeling cocky.
Schipol airport and Liverpool council already have these birds in place and now New York – about to employ a “Pigeon Czar” to tackle the increasing problems posed by the birds – is about to invest in one.
The robot can’t take to the air, but periodically moves its head from side to side and lets out a hawk-style call before raising its wings and giving them a shake.
We can’t help but think it’s only a matter of months before the birds cotton on and leave their own very special calling card upon the hawks crown.
