Lumix DMC-G1Digital SLR cameras may take great shots, but they’re a bit inconvenient to carry around unless it’s your actual job to be a photographer. Lucky for us then, Panasonic have said no to convention and sneaked out the Lumix DMC-G1, a little snapper with SLR specs and compact proportions.

It’s apparently down to some new fangled tech, known as “Micro Four Thirds System”, that halves the amount of distance needed between the mount and the lens. They’ve made good use of the extra space, squeezing in a 12.1 megapixel sensor, ISO control and Live View viewfinding on a three inch LCD panel.

And to give you the flexibility of having a DSLR and a lot of money, Panasonic have also launched a range of lenses to cover all distances and scenery. Kudos to you, Pan.
