The Sony PSP and Nintendo DS will be quaking in their gaming boots after Apple boss, Steve Jobs hailed the iPhone as “the best portable games device.”
The iPhone’s been steadily creeping up on the two gaming stalwarts but the claim from Jobs shows just how clear Apple’s intentions are.
After showing Need for Speed Undercover, Spore Origin and Real Soccer 2009 complete with virtual onscreen D-pad, he confidently made his claim.
“Now you can make a pretty good argument that it is the best portable device for playing games on - and a whole new class of games” He said.
While Apple has yet to admit any interest in developing a games console, this latest quip should have Nintendo and Sony worried.
