There are machinesa-plenty out there able to scan pages but the tedious part of the task, the page turning that is, still involves a human element, ScanRobot however does the lot.
Stick your book in the centre and hit go and the robots kicks into copyreading mode scanning two pages per run and able to complete an average of 25 pages per minute.
The scanner part is a wedge shape which sticks itself inside the book and attracts two pages to the scanning surface to the two pages with a static like action, it then releases the pages and makes the turn with the assistance of an air jet.
