To showcase its new ‘eco-chic’ line, LG commissioned designer NellyRodi to bling up its latest planet-friendly 9kg Steam Direct washing machine at the Maison et Object show in Paris. It looks like a giant disco ball!
Eco-chic is the new buzz phrase at LG and its being applied right across the range. “We don’t think that green living should mean that style and comfort are compromised,” explained Caroline Kim, the brand’s vice president for marketing. LG wheeled out all of its energy-saving appliances at the interiors show including air con units that look like picture frames, the ultra slim Scarlet TVs and its stylish in-built kitchen appliances. Sadly, the washing machine that looks like it’s going to a disco is a one off by NellyRodi, but it is also available in black, white and silver.

Kitchen appliances have always been a bit boring, it’s about time we added a little more bling! The steam washers are fantastic, I saw one at an exhibition earlier this year.
