The Sims 3Will Wright’s been a busy man. If Spore’s imminent release for the iPhone wasn’t exciting enough, it now turns out that sandbox favourite SimCity and sequel to just about the biggest selling game ever, The Sims 3, are headed the way of the touchscreen.

The pair join the list of games currently in development at EA Mobile, including Yahtzee Adventures, EA Mini Golf, Mahjong, Monopoly, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09, Need for Speed Undercover, and, er, Lemonade Tycoon.

It’s just a line on a press release at the moment, so there’s no details of how the games will work. Or more importantly, what natural disasters the gods will rain down on your sim citizens. We’ve got money riding on Spore-style alien invasions though.

I can’t wait to see Spore on the iPhone. I’ve lost much of last weekend to the Mac version, although the early stages got a bit repetitive, and it’s incredibly easy to get to the space stage, even in a single sitting and in max difficulty. It doesn’t seem to have the complexity of The Sims, which although twee, was at least long-lasting.
