Forget about the N96 going on sale in October. Nokia has finally started shipping its most anticipated phone of all time, with the first boatloads now heading to pre-order customers.

The 16GB phone just started flying off shelves and into owners’ hands, bringing GPS, N-Gage gaming, a TV tuner and 5 megapixel camera.

Those who pre-orded the handset will be receiving their new phone shortly, packed with all of Nokia’s next-gen goodies.

We got a hands-on with the N96 as soon as it was launched, and it’s had a place in our hearts ever since. Now it’s started selling properly.

You can order your own direct from Nokia. The store still offers it as a pre-order at the moment, but that’s likely because they’re clearing the backlog of existing orders before listing it properly.
