Zune owners could be getting a wall socket wireless speaker adapter too and for once, the Microsoft effort looks much better than Apple’s iPod equivalent. Zune Bug’s tiny speakers are actually built into the device along with an LED light that responds to the rhythm and volume of the music.
Zune Bug was inspired by the real life June Bug beetle and is designed, by Ashley Payne, to reside in a mains socket and await signals from your Zune MP3 player.
It responds to a wireless signal by playing the music through its titchy speakers and flashing its LED in time to the beat to illuminate its translucent plastic casing. Unlike Apple’s Airport Express and AirTunes, it has no audio output socket, so although it looks great, there’s no guarantee this niche concept product will ever see production.
