It’s already unveiled a 9.9mm thick LCD telly, and now Sony’s completing the package with these rakishly thin speakers!
Originally codenamed ‘Pocky’ after a thin Japanese stick-shaped snack, the Bravia Theatre BDV-IT1000 system boasts speaker profiles just 16mm thick. That’s roughly the width of a finger.
And the speakers are just half the story. The system’s main control box houses its amp, cranking out 700 watts of sonic grunt, and there’s a Blu-Ray drive cranking out 1080p pictures, and upscaling DVDs too.
The system is also Blu-Ray Profile 2 compatible, with an ethernet port stashed ‘round the back, so it’ll play nicely with all the latest BD-Live features on modern discs.
All the latest audio formats are supported, including Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.
