The Nintendo Wii came hurtling into our living rooms with its fun casual approach and masses of party games in tow, but at what cost? Since then Nintendo has been accused of ignoring ‘hardcore’ gamers. Not so, says the Big N.
Speaking to Edge, an unnamed spokesperson said “We have never neglected our core gamers,” maintaining that certain games take a little longer to develop.
“We still have developers working on popular core gaming franchises, but we need approximately two to three years to complete these games.”
The explanation echoes similar comments by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, who earlier told Forbes that certain franchises can take a while to reach maturity.
