Having waited until now to launch its first Blu-Ray player, JVC’s pulled out all the stops with a DivX playing, media streaming disc spinner that promises to fling all your video to the telly, no matter what shape it comes in.
See, the NX-BD3 is DLNA compatible, so it’ll stream content from computers anywhere in the house, either using wired or wireless networks.
It’ll also play back DivX files from CDs or DVDs (but not Blu-Ray discs, unfortunately), and comes with a 2.1 channel sound system too.
It’s a neat little package, but for HD completists here’s a warning: it’s not Profile 2 compliant, and lacks DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD.
