We brought it to you while still in the prototyping stage, and even got confirmation Sony isn’t going to follow suit, but now Toshiba’s made its upscaling TV official, using a built-in Cell processor to crank up the detail on whatever you feed it.
The new ZF series takes signals from set top boxes, DVDs and even game consoles in standard definition, before turning the might of the Cell processor (also found powering the PS3) onto them.
The result is a picture “near hi-def quality” from any source you like.
The ZF series comes in 40 and 46 inch versions, offering 1080p pictures, as well as 100hz for silky smooth pictures.
