Apple’s iPhone 3G has been a stellar success, and according to reports, has already out-sold the original model, despite being on sale for just a month and a half.
According to TechCrunch, Apple is due to sell its six millionth iPhone 3G next week. It took the 1st generation a year to reach the same milestone.
If the figures are accurate, it’s an astounding achievement, and one that’s certainly been helped by Apple’s roll out of iPhone availability abroad.
Now the real question is how the iPhone compares to the rest of Apple’s line-up. Is it cannibalising iPod sales? Can a new nano rekindle interest in the product that kick-started Apple’s latest run of success? The rumours are rife. Keep it here for updates.
