BBC keeps whole series on iPlayer

BBC iPlayerUp until now the BBC has removed shows from the iPlayer seven days after they first aired. That’s all about to change with Series Stacking, letting fans catch up on whole series of shows without paying a penny.

The Beeb’s beginning to introduce Series Stacking now, allowing 15% of its programmes to be kept online until the end of their series. That’ll be reviewed at the beginning of next year, and could be increased.

It’ll mean you can catch up on a whole series-long run of a show, even if you join it near the end.

We reckon it’s a great idea, but ISPs are sure to be annoyed, since the iPlayer has already sent streaming traffic through the roof, but what do you think? Give us a shout in the comments section below.
