Hi-Tec hasn’t had a great time in recent years. It’s lost its reputation for being, well, high-tech. But that’s all about to change with their new range of shoes, complete with water-repelling nano technology.
The new range is the first in the world to be treated with ion-mask technology originally developed for the Ministry of Defence.
It fuses a water repellent chemical to fabrics, so they become completely waterproof without the need for a traditional coating.
The result is a shoe that looks and feels completely normal, but is also 100% water and dirt repellent, as well as being lightweight - up to 10% lighter in fact, thanks to its lack of heavy water-resistant membranes, as well as its ability to shed moisture.
Even better, the ion-mask treatment can be applied to any material. Even kitchen roll becomes waterproof after a quick blast in Hi-Tec’s magical machine. It’s seriously impressive. Check out the video below - you simply won’t believe your eyes.
