When Nokia lifted the lid on the N85 this morning, our jaws hit the floor, but the Big N was saving its real wow factor for the unveiling of the N79. Yes, it’s a bit less pretty, but take a look at its specs and you’ll see this is the smartphone to really tempt your credit card.
It’s got a five megapixel camera, just like the N85, and Nokia’s ultra-handy FM transmitter to beam music to a car stereo, just like its slide-phone brother.
There’s GPS too, and geotagging for photos, as well as Wi-Fi and 3G with HSDPA.
The only let-down is Nokia’s decision to bundle a 4GB SD card with the candybar-shaped N79, halving its capacity next to the N85. But then, you could always fork out for some extra memory, and at more than £80 cheaper than its black-clad brother, the N79 will still leave you with change in your pocket.

Out October | £278 | Nokia
