Little laptops may be getting bigger, with manufactures adding extra screen inches here and there, but Hercules has gone the other way with the eCafe, creating a teeny weeny 8in model.
The engineers have also managed to avoid being carried away in the processor department, skipping the latest speedy chips in favour of a 500 MHz AMD Geode LX 800 CPU. Memory is also on the slim side, coming in at 512MB, expandable to a maximum of 1.5GB.
Storage stretches to a modest 20GB and the screen packs a 1,024×600 pixel resolution. As you’d expect, Windows is a bit bulky for its lithe frame, but it can handle Linux without a problem. It’s expected to hit Euroland in September for around €300 – about £240.
