Apple boss Steve Jobs has revealed there’ll be a new software update for iPhone 3G owners next month, remedying problems with devices locking up and failing to boot.
According to AppleInsider, the Mac-daddy sent one of his notorious, but rare, e-mails to a concerned customer, simply stating: “This is a known iPhone bug that is being fixed in the next software update in September.”
It’s not uncommon for Jobs to reply directly to fans of his products, especially when there’s a problem or they have an outstanding complaint against the firm.
However, it’s extremely rare for Jobs himself, of Apple as a whole for that matter, to lift the lid on products or updates before they’re ready. Is the problem more serious than we thought? Stay tuned for more as we hear it.
