The Xbox 360’s about to get a new controller, but it’s not the arm-waving motion-control version we’ve been expecting, it’s a refined version with a better D-pad.
The button-bashers at gamesindustry.biz are reporting that the next iteration of Xbox controller will include enhancements to the direction buttons.
It’ll come packaged inside a limited edition green-coloured controller (no, us neither), and will make controlling games using the D-pad less of a chore. The pic above comes courtesy of Eurogamer, although you can see it looks almost exactly the same as the original.
Exciting? Not really, but it proves the Big M is still devoting time and effort to improving its controllers, so maybe a motion-sensitive version isn’t too far off after all.
