Toshiba’s new Tecra A10 and M10 laptops promise not just shock protection, to keep the hardware in one piece should it take a tumble, but also extra security measures to keep your data safe if someone half inches it. Someone should probably let the Ministry of Defence know.
As well as finger print security, so you don’t need to remember all those pesky passwords, you also get Toshiba’s EasyGuard technology that can also help protect you from nasty online threats that might wipe out all your data. It’ll even check all the data going in and out of your laptop for possible threats so you’ll know as soon as you pick up anything nasty.
The spec list is pretty impressive in itself. In addition to Intel’s latest Centrino 2 processors you can have up to 8GB of memory and a 250GB hard drive. The A10 features a 15in screen while the M10 is slightly smaller, packing a 14in display. Both come with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, while the latter can also have 3G as an option. They’ll be available from October and the A10 starts at £590, while the M10 is a little bit pricier starting at £650.
