Sony has quashed optimism over a PlayStation 3 price cut at next week’s Leipzig games convention, saying, “It’s not going to happen.”
The Xbox 360 might have lost a few pounds but the beefy PS3 isn’t going the same way.
“It’s not going to happen. If you’re coming for that you’ll be disappointed,” Sony Computer Entertainment spokesman Nick Caplin told Reuters
Instead, an 80GB PS3 will be going on sale in the UK on August 27 for £299 as the 40GB console gets phased out.
