Everybody’s at it: hot on the heels of rumours about Apple squeezing itself into the ultra-cheap, ultra-cheerful mini-laptop market comes the first glimpses of Fujitsu Siemens’ Amilo Mini, an Atom-powered “netbook” with the Asus Eee PC in its crosshairs.

We’ll learn more about the Mini when it’s officially debuted at the IFA expo later this month, but we do know the machine supports interchangeable clip-on covers: you can pop off the default dark red shell and replace it with separately purchased alternatives, including a see-through number with a space for pictures.
