Grabbing music on your mobile’s always been a laborious affair, but now networks are getting in on the act with their own music stores. O2 is the latest, tying up with Sony BMG to shovel music direct to your mobile.
Dubbed My Play, O2’s store is live right now, selling tracks for 99p a pop, and videos for £1.50. Ringtones are also available, but at £3.50, and with many mobiles able to use standard MP3s to do the same job, it’s a pretty steep price to pay.
The store hosts artist microsites, so its easy to track down the songs you’re after, although for the time being, it seems only Sony BMG’s music will be on offer.
