While the credit crunch and mortgage crisis continue to grip the majority of Brits, some lucky blighters are taking delivery of Tag Heuer’s £2,650 Meridiist phone.
It’s Tag’s first mobile, and the phone fanciers at Stuff just got their unbelievably lucky hands on it.
It’s a very special handset indeed, designed to unseat Vertu as the mobile maker of choice for the rich and tasteless.
Actually, that’s not fair. As expense-o-phones go, the Meridiist is better looking than most. Its butch metal shell encases an “unscratchable” screen, while the very top of the phone houses a clock, presumably so you can glance down while it’s in a shirt pocket, or a particularly baggy pair of jeans.
Unfortunately, these niceties are the only special features inside. Other specs include a disappointing 2 megapixel camera. Still, that never stopped the iPhone. What is impressive is Tag’s claim of cranking out 7 hours talk time from a single charge.
Luxury crocodile skin is just one of the coatings available, with Tag also offering leather and rubber shells. Get your eyes to Stuff’s website to see more pics.
