Asus clearly doesn’t want to lose its mini laptop crown to all the new upstarts entering the market. In addition to the high end Ultimate and Pro Fashion models that were recently revealed it looks like the original 700 series line will also get an overhaul.
It’s likely the 701SD will sit in the same chassis as the 901 but without the rounded edges. It’ll get the same keyboard and touchpad, but on the storage side of things it’ll be blessed with a 30GB hard disk, not a solid state drive despite what the SD in its name might suggest.
Other items on the almost certain list are an Atom processor and a lower price tag than the 701 since there’s no flash drive inside.
