LG has announced the BD300, the first Blu-ray player with the skills to instantly stream video content from US movie service Netflix. Users will be able to queue up their chosen films or TV shows and, once selected, a movie will start playing within 30 seconds.
We don’t have Netflix here in the UK, so unless LG has managed to forge deals with local on-demand suppliers the BD300 may not see the light of day here. As well as streaming movies and playing Blu-ray discs, the player also upscales standard DVDs to 1080p and supports BD Live.
Out autumn (US only) | £TBC
