You have a BBQ outside when its sunny right? So solar power seems like a logical source of power to us. The Helios Grill amplifies the sun’s rays enough to cook burgers just like the real thing.
If this concept design by Sean McGreevy takes off, it could radically change the traditional BBQ party where the first few hours are spent burning, arranging and rearranging pieces of charcoal. The Helios simply points a dish directly at the sun to concentrate its rays onto a solar panel, which creates enough energy to heat the metal grill, so that you can cook just as you would on a conventional barbie. It will seriously reduce your carbon footprint and possible the amount of carbon on your burgers too.
