Nokia N96 can be yours on 1st OctoberThere’s been rumour and speculation but Nokia has finally fessed up – the telly packing N96 mega handset will finally hit the shops on Wednesday 1st October.

There’s no single network tie in, unlike other super phones, so you’ll be able to pick one up from Three, Carphone Warehouse, Orange, Phones4U, T-Mobile or Vodafone. Just pick the one that tickles your fancy most. Or gives you the best discount.

In exchange you’ll get the swankiest Nokia phone since the N95 was introduced, packing 16GB of internal storage, the ability to pickup mobile TV broadcasts, a 5 megapixel camera and even a flip out stand for hands free video playback. No, not THAT kind of video…

Awesome! See you in the queue. Please tell me I won’t be the only one… again ;)

    I wouldn’t bother, it’s a very underwhelming phone and very, very pricey – probably around £200 on a £35 18m contract.

No FM transmitter, only 5 megapixel (albeit with a nice lens) when there’ll be at least 5 8 megapixel devices on the market or close when this launches (EXCLUSIVE!! MUST CREDIT GRIDLOCK!!!1) and did I mention that it’s going to be twice the price of the iPhone?
