Hannspree HT11 bedroom TVWidescreen 16:9 TVs didn’t take long to sweep away the old square 4:3 sets, but Hannspree’s latest portable TV is squaring up to the competition with a 5:4 aspect ratio. Trying out some new shapes eh Hannspree?

It’s actually a popular aspect ratio for PC monitors, which means there are plenty of inexpensive LCD panels like this flying around and it has allowed Hannspree to keep the price of this bedroom telly low, while giving the HT11 a flashy gloss black bezel. The only trouble is that nearly all broadcasts and DVD movies are in 16:9, so it won’t be a very good fit.

Out September | £180 | Hannspree
