Sony’s slipped out a quiet update to the PS3’s firmware, which it says improves performance.
It’s not clear exactly which improvements the update offers, but it’s safe to assume there’re some bug fixes tucked in there too.
Sony says the update, which takes the PS3 to software version 2.42, “improves the playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation format software.”
PlayStation Network operations director Eric Lempel announced the update on the company’s blog. You can grab it now using the software update option on your console.
